Slow Cooker Ham, Potatoes, Carrots and Onions
Here we have a healthy meal combining slow cooker ham, potato, carrots and onions. Simple to make, as are a lot of slow cooked meals. Set your slow cooker on low and this hearty meal is ready in just 2 to 3 hours.
2lb sliced potato
2lb sliced carrots
2lb chopped ham
1 lb chopped white onion
1/2 cup olive oil
Pour the oil into your slow cooker (or use a cooker bag) to stop the food from sticking.
Add half of the potatoes, carrots, ham and onions in layers. Start with the potato on the bottom.
Then continue to layer the rest of the ingredients into the slow cooker.
Add salt and black pepper, to taste.
Cook for 3 hrs on low.
You might like to try adding some grated cheese for the last hour of cooking. If you want to spice it up slightly, then sprinkle some Paprika on the cheese. Even better, smoked Paprika.
Serve your slow cooker ham and veg meal with a green salad.
