We like to cook the chicken in Italian Dressing. First, you take a whole chicken, wash it and place it in the slow cooker the night before. Drizzle about half a bottle of Italian Dressing over the bird and let it marinate overnight in the refrigerator. Then, slow cook it as usual.

a dumpling is basically biscuit mix, dropped by teaspoon full, into boiling chicken stock (or soup, or stew) and cooked in this till done, they float on top and steam

how about a simple chicken / veggie mix
put whole chix in slow cooker w/ 1"or so water
add chopped veggies (like carrot tato, celery), s/p and herbs or spices u like
    cook low 6-8hrs hi 4-6

    lemon chicken
1 day before….soak chicken in a heavy salt bath. this loosens the skin
before cooking in slow cooker, slip lemon slices between skin and meat, then cook in 1" water same as above…mmmm

  3. A dumpling is a starchy ball of dough, usually made of flour, water, and sometimes egg. They’re little sticky balls of dough that you put in a soup and they kind of puff up and cook in the broth. Asian-style dumplings are different though.

Cook the chicken over night on low in the slow cooker. In the morning, remove the skin and add chopped vegetables of your choice – carrots, potatoes, dried peas. Cook all day. That evening, boil up your favorite noodles;drain, and place on serving dish. Top with vegetables, then the chicken.

I make my dumplings like my grandmother did by mixing salted chicken broth into flour to make the dough then I roll it out into thin layers and cut into strips. Then stretch out the strips very thin and drop into more boiling chicken broth to cook. I boil the chicken first and debone it and take that out before I cook the dumplings then add it back in after the dumplings are done.

3 to 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast
    1 jar spaghetti sauce
    1 sm. can sliced olives
    1 sm. onion, chopped
    2 each celery stock, sliced
    1 c. mushrooms, slices
1 c. carrots (optional) or any vegetable desired
1 pkg. macaroni (shells, elbow, etc.)
Cut chicken in bite size pieces. In crock pot, combine chicken, spaghetti sauce, olives, onion, celery, mushrooms and carrots. Cook on low 6 to 7 hours or high 3 to 4 hours. Cook macaroni. Place macaroni in bowl, spoon Chicken Cacciatore over. Great with french bread and a salad.

    4-6 chicken breasts
    Bacon strips
1 can cream of chicken or mushroom soup
1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
    Dash of garlic powder
Wrap chicken with bacon. Place in crock pot. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over chicken. Cook all day on medium high. Serve over rice. Serves 4-6.

    3-4 c. cooked, diced chicken
    1 pkg. (10-12) flour tortillas
    1 med. onion, chopped
2 (10 oz.) cans cream of chicken soup
    1 can (1 c.) tomatoes & chilies
    4 tbsp. quick cooking tapioca
    4 c. grated Cheddar cheese
In a large bowl mix chicken, soup, tomatoes, chilies and tapioca. Rip 2 to 3 tortillas into pieces and line the bottom of a 5 quart crockpot. Add 1/3 of the chicken mixture; top with 1/3 of the onion and cheese. Repeat layers of tortillas, chicken mixture, onion and cheese two more times. Cover; cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3 hours. For a smaller 3 quart crockpot makes 1/2 recipe. This is a good take-in dish or potluck.
